Installation

The Smartsign Sync Client is installed on a separate computer and connects to a Smartsign On-premises Server or Cloud Service. It is typically installed on a server so that it can run 24/7.

Prerequisites

  • Microsoft Windows 10 or higher
  • Microsoft .NET 4.8

Installation

  1. Download the Smartsign Sync Installer
  2. Start the installer and follow the instructions
  3. Smartsign Sync Wizard will launch once the installation is completed
  4. In the Server field, input your server (hostname only)
    • EU Cloud service: eu.smartsigncloud.com
    • AU Cloud service: au.smartsigncloud.com
    • On-premises: Use the hostname or IP that your server is configured with
  5. Input your username, either your personal user or a user created specifically for synchronization (recommended). The user must have site admin access.
  6. Input your password
  7. If you have a proxy, click Proxy to configure settings for it (see separate section)
  8. Check the box if you wish to create a personal sync folder which you can connect to one or more screens
  9. Click Login when you are done.
  10. If everything is correct you should receive the below message.
  11. Done! You can now create Synchronized Folder data sources in Smartsign Publisher.
